For quite some time now one of my favorite passages is the Bible is the Jude Doxology from Jude 24-25.
Here are the verses: (from the ESV)
24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
I see so much wrapped up in those two verses that Scripture talks about in other places. So here is my challenge:
When you read and reflect on those verses, what comes to mind? What other verses pop into your mind? What other Biblical principals or doctrines are you reminded of from this simple passage? Reflect on it and share a comment.
Blessings, Ron
“Now to Him”
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:36
Heb 2:18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
2 Pet 2:9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27, ESV)
Heb 12:2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
I think of the fact that I will be presented to God without fault, only by His grace, through Jesus work on the cross. Amazing to think about! And that He gives me what I need, all I need, to keep me from stumbling. As far as what other verses come to mind, I can’t think of specific verses off hand but there are truths in the Bible regarding the fact that God gives me what I need to “walk” , not stumble as I live for Him, and that He sees me through His son as holy. Also I love the fact that I will be presented with great joy….He must love me so! Like a father presenting his daughter.
I will meet him face to face.
I can live with that news!!!!!!
